42% of Manor Students Fall Below Math Standards
The 2018-19 California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress (CAASPP) shows that 42% of Manor students fell below state standards for math. This is in sharp contrast to other Ross Valley School District schools, which hover around 20% below standard.
Comparisons to Other RVSD Schools
While Manor scores close to the County in Math scores, other Ross Valley School District elementary schools fared better in State testing
Manor - 42.03% below State standards
Wade Thomas - 18.62% below State standards
Hidden Valley - 19.46% below State standards
Brookside - 27.33% below State standards
The District reviewed CAASPP math scores in November of 2019 in this report. There was no plan to address the discrepancy between Manor and the other Ross Valley School District elementary schools.
Manor began the process of becoming an Expeditionary Learning school in 2016. The District has spent $198,975 over the past four years on teacher training and services with EL Education:
2019-20 $40,000.00
2018-19 $54,600.00
2017-18 $72,525.00
2016-17 $31,850.00
While the program seems to be supporting the ELA program at Manor, it does not seem to have a positive effect on mathematics.
Hopefully, the Ross Valley School District will spend some time focusing on the students of Manor Elementary. Manor has the highest number of low-income and English language learners in the District.
