Ross Valley School Superintendent Upset When Asked to Do His Job

Share the facts

On October 4, 2018, Ross Valley Schools Superintendent Rick Bagley threatened to "tell on" local IJ reporter who made a standard public information request of the District, and demanded an apology for making the request in the first place. Why does RVSD leadership feel like it should be above the law, and not subject to public inquiry? Or, is it a complete failure to understand the law in the first place?

Responding to public records act or public documents act requests is a standard part of any Superintendent's job, and school districts are required to adhere to the Public Records Act. It's no wonder we're in the current situation with Ross Valley Charter when Ross Valley Schools reacts with outrage when asked to follow the law and be transparent about their actions -- in short, to do their job.
